What is the meaning of five-axis in CNC machining

Aug 14, 2021

The controllable coordinate axis and coordinate system of CNC machine tools are the basic standard for describing the trajectory of motion in a written address language written by a program. The coordinate system is a right-handed rectangular coordinate system. The thumb is the X-axis, the index finger is the Y-axis, and the middle finger is the Z-axis. The fingertip points to each coordinate. The positive direction of the axis is the direction to increase the distance between the tool and the workpiece

If there are linear motions parallel to them in addition to the XYZ axis, they are designated as the UVW axis. If there is a third group of motion, it is designated as PQR. If there is a rotation axis, the rotation axis around the XYZ axis is specified as the ABC axis and the direction is right. The direction of the screw thread is defined as the horizontal movement of the boring axis of a CNC planer milling and boring machine, which is defined as the movement of the Z-axis column in the Z direction, which is defined as the upward and downward movement of the W-axis headstock, which is defined as the Y-axis and the rotating table around the Y-axis is defined as the B-axis table Left and right movement is defined as X axis
